Strengthening Vehicle Safety Across Our Field Operations

Feb 12, 2026

Over the past year, Chronicle Heritage has built a scalable vehicle safety framework that supports growing field operations through standardized practices and the rollout of Samsara.

Our vehicle safety framework is now used across all field operations, and allows for:

  • Faster, more consistent setup of new field vehicles and drivers
  • A connected fleet safety system designed to support future growth

Challenged by Company Growth

Chronicle’s field operations depend on vehicles to safely support projects across diverse environments and locations. As the organization continued to grow, adding new projects, vehicles, and employees, vehicle safety processes became harder to manage consistently. Practices varied by region, onboarding relied heavily on local knowledge, and new vehicles often required manual setup and oversight.

Over the past 10 months, our Fleet, Safety, and Operations teams focused on building a repeatable vehicle safety framework rather than solving individual issues in isolation. This work included defining consistent safety expectations, standardizing inspection and vehicle use practices and selecting tools that could support those standards at scale.

Samsara now anchors Chronicle’s vehicle safety framework, providing a single system for managing vehicles, drivers, and safety data across the organization. New field vehicles can be set up quickly, and new employees are integrated into the same safety expectations from day one.

Vehicle Safety

An Immediate Impact

The groundwork established through this initiative has transformed vehicle safety into a scalable, operational system with measurable results. In 2025, vehicle incidents declined to 37, down from 58 the prior year, representing a 36 percent reduction. This improvement reflects the combined impact of clearer safety expectations, more consistent onboarding, and better visibility into driving behavior.

With this framework in place, Chronicle can continue expanding field operations while maintaining consistent vehicle safety standards. New projects, vehicles and employees will be supported through an established system designed to scale alongside the organization.

“We’re very proud of the fact that we built a fleet safety framework that supports growth,” said Sophie Monboussin, National Fleet Manager.
